CAKES IN THE RAIN

CAKES IN THE RAIN

I can't complain.

Knowing I've left better cakes in the rain.

They weren't bittersweet.

There was no pain.

I know I'll never have that recipe again.

Shout out to Richard Harris.

No doubt she was the fairest.

I'll drop dead before you find me careless.

The expectation is blameless.

Never knew a silver spoon.

Just stainless.

They did the best they could.

But still raised a boy with a mentality so hood.

What's good?

My best friend and enemy I see in the mirror.

With each nibble of daily bread the vision gets clearer.

New threads they will adorn me.

Like lipstick on a pig I know it's corny.

Still I pray to God to conform me…

In the image that is his son.

Knowing I will never be number one.
